What a weekend of nice weather and the beach!

As a treat, I took my hubby to the Outer Banks for the weekend. He turns 50 this week! We stayed at the wonderful Hampton Inn in Corolla where they treat you like royalty. He got an entire weekend of guilt free tennis at the Pine Island Racquet Club across the street. I took a handbag construction class at Funtastik Fabrics, so I had a great time too. Met a lot of great girls and had a blast! We had an awesome dinner at Meridian 42 restaurant. If you are ever in the OBX area, check it out!

Here's another new/old outfit! This was so popular last year, we had to bring it back! I call it Bahama Mama. Available in sizes 1/2 to 6T, this makes a great spring outfit with a shirt and socks and carries the little one on over into summer alone. I have customers who wear these little shift dresses all year long!

A weekend of sports at our house

My dear husband has spent 98% of this weekend with his but glued to the couch, watching "the game". Apparently, the game doesn't actually mean one game! The game I was excited about was the UNC Tarheels versus Miami. (What is Miami doing in the ACC anyway. . . but I digress). I did everything right. Put on my Tarheel jersey, got out my banners, my Tarheel teddy bear, pendant, and painted my fingernails Carolina Blue. Unfortunately, the big guys were too much for the Tarheel's freshmen. Maybe the Carolina Panthers will do better and redeem the glory for North Carolina! I have a great Panther tie listed on ebay, hope it does as well as the team! Well, I am off to watch Lindsey Davenport play tennis. As you can see, my hubby is not the only sports fan at this house! Later!

Sleep study grrr

Well, it's no secret to those who know me well I have been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately. Tried everything from warm milk to Lunesta. It's probably a combination of fibromyalgia, menopause, and stress. But the sleep study was a complete waste of time. First they put you in a prison cell sized room with no windows and no air stirring at all. I was told to put my pj's on at 8:30. like who gets ready for bed at 8:30, certainly not someone with sleep issues. Then you are hooked up to ungodly wires and monitors, particularly uncomfortable are the ones on the front, back, and sides of your head that begin to feel like ball bearings attached to your head as you lie on them for a few minutes. As the night progressed we are talking bowling balls attached to your head! I was then told to lie down in the bed (9:00) and she turned off the light. I begged to be allowed to sit up and read which is my usual nightime ritual. I ALWAYS read to ease into sleep, no matter how tired I am, a few pages at least. Nope, that's not policy, but you can watch TV. TV is not restful to me--ugh. Already I am knowing I would not be able to sleep. And of course, you are unable to potty when you want to, you have to get "permission" and get the wires etc unhooked from the computer. Naturally this makes you ten times more in need of running to the bathroom every 30 minutes. So I lay there watching two old school James Bond movies--until 2 am when I can't handle being tied down anymore. It was obvious I wasn't gonna sleep. She said she always got patients up and going by 5 or 6 am, so I just started pulling wires. After a few she comes running in and says I am all unhooked. I said get me out of this stuff, I am going home. I threw on my coat over my pjs, grabbed my stuff and hit the door running. Gee that was fun.

Seriously, who could sleep under those circumstances?

Any who, I am working on some awesome reversible aprons for Valentine's and spring gifts. I have a few listed on the web site now and more on the drawing board. They are very large and roomy and completely reversible. I am looking at reversible placemats, napkins, and maybe even cafe curtains? We will see. So far the reaction has been good. I am thinking Mother's and even Father's day these will be a hit! Here's a pix of one that has been popular so far. It uses two of the Mary Englebreit fabrics.
