Travel Bug has me bad! Just look at my new product!

Well, I have enjoyed traveling so much the past two years, I made the reasonable jump to become a travel agent. My friend, Linda and I have begun working on putting together a cruise for the Costa Cruise lines. I am really looking forward to the whole process and especially setting sail on my first cruise as "cruise conductor". Yippee!

The promo for the cruise is on my web site www.handmade-heaven.com. Check under Cruise Info. We think it's a pretty good travel bargain. We threw in some goodies for just our group like a bridge tournament and scrapbooking classes. Anyone can sign up, deposit details are in the promo. Read and enjoy! In the meantime, just a bit about the cruise to get you in the tropical mood.

St Patty's Day Weekend-Fun!

Not only were we invited to a great party for St Patty's day party at my friends house Linda and Richard, but we had the best company for the festive weekend! My son, Sammy, and his girlfriend Meredith came to vist and it was go much fun! Just a couple of weekends ago, my daughter Kelly and her fellow Michael came for the weekend, so I am one happy mom. Linda and Richie always throw a nice party, with great food, lots to drink, and good conversation and friends.
Meredith is a violin virtuoso who has been playing since she was three, so I asked her and Sammy to provide a wee bit of the Irish jig for the party. They sounded so great and added a festive note. I was so proud! Only thing is: note to self: never volunteer to make cabbage for that many people. My house still smells funky!
The weekend continued with an overdose of basketball as Carolina continues it's race through the NCAA and NC State battles on in the NIT.
Rah ACC!

We have a great new outfit--another poodle one--and of course pink! This is a 2 piece ensemble that uses a purchased cotton shirt as the top. Available in sizes 1T-14. Only as long as fabric supply lasts!

Quiet but productive weekend

With the hubby out of town and the Bridal Assocation Show only a week away, I spent the weekend designing and sewing. I have four models entered in the fashion show. A two year old little girl and boy--who I hpe to have walk down the aisle together; an 8 year old girl and a 10 year old girl. I have the matching set for the 2 yrs olds mostly done and the two dresses for the 10 yr old. Tonight I am working on the dress for the other little girl. Really hoping the show is productive in terms of exposure and future sales! This is a big deal for my little two woman company--so say your prayers and keep your fingers crossed.

My how time has flown@Handmade Heaven

I looked at my blog and realized I had not posted for several months! Chalk this up to being super busy with the business (yeah) and busy traveling. In September, my husband and I took our first cruise to Bermuda on the NCL Dawn cruise ship. I have been trying to get him to take a cruise forever--and he finally gave up and had a great time. We are already thinking about our next one! He is in the US Coast Guard and has made quite a few "cruises" in boats large and small, so it took a bit of persuading. After a rocky start (sea sickness) we had a wonderful seven days. Here's a couple of pix you might enjoy.

This is our ship tied up in St. George and the picture above is one of the lovely "pink" beaches--this one is called Horseshoe Bay.

Go for a cruise! It is the best way to travel ever!

Andre Aggassi Hot at His Final US Open!

Ernesto may be threatening to drown us here in coastal NC, but the weather is fine for Thursday night play between Agassi and Baghdatis. Right now the beloved "old man" of tennis is ahead 2 sets, working on the third. Of course, the whole stadium is pulling for Andre--they had one incredile "wave" go through the crowd that stopped play. Awesome. I have been following Andre since he was a long haired punk and will hate to see him leave tennis. Not a tennis fan, well you should be~! LOL! Visit, http://www.usopenseries.com for more information about the biggest tennis party in New York City. If you haven't heard, the center where they play was renamed this week in honor of Billy Jean King, one of the early women champions and a tireless leader in the fight for women's tennis and equal rights, opportunities, and pay for women athletes everywhere.

In honor of the US Open, a sale for my tennis friends. Send me a picture of you playing tennis and receive 20% off any fabric item on the web site! Now that's a promotion for a fan!

Too hot to think about fall, but SCHOOL is about to start!

With a heat and humidity index of a zillion degrees here in coastal NC, it doesn't seem possible the start of school is less than 4 weeks away! AND it's time to get those fall fashions on the web site and ready for our great customers!

We have a couple of cute Halloween baby jumpers that could easily work as a costume too. I remember when my kids were small, I just hated putting them in those store bought costumes, especially with those masks. I was never sure they could see out of the blasted things are not! We have these dresses for 18 months/1T and 2/3T that you might be interested in. They feature a black bodice with an appliqued spider and a cutie pie skirt with baby spiders and webs. The webs glow in the dark a bit and while it won't take the place of mom's careful guidance, it will make your little tyke just a bit easier to see in the dark. Add some makeup, tights and a top, a few chenille antennae, and viola a cute little spider outfit!

These are specially priced at $22.00 plus $4.50 shipping. Don't wait, not many of these left!
